James Bond Latest News For Nest INstallment

James Bond shock: Hugh Jackman reveals why he REJECTED chance to play

JAMES BOND could have been played by Hugh Jackman if the stars had aligned differently

The star, who went on to become an icon of a different franchise thanks to his work as Wolverine, admitted that - at the time of the offer - he just wasn’t a fan of the movies.
It seems he could have tried out for the part to succeed Pierce Brosnan, before Daniel Craig ultimately won the role.
Brosnan went out on something of a damp squib, with Die Another Day derided by many fans.
But what Jackman didn’t know at the time was that James Bond  was about to go through something of a resurgence; with Casino Royale breathing new life.
“I was about to do X-Men 2 and a call came from my agent asking if I’d be interested in Bond,” he told Variety.
“I just felt at the time that the scripts had become so unbelievable and crazy and I felt like they needed to become grittier and real.
“And the response was: ‘Oh, you don’t get a say. You just have to sign on.’”
He added: “I was also worried that between Bond and X-Men, I’d never have time to do different things.”
Ultimately he went on to play Wolverine for 17 years, up until the release of Logan earlier in 2017.
Now, he’s preparing to star in The Greatest Showman alongside Zac Efron.
The next Bond movie, meanwhile - which will be Craig’s last - is due 2019.
In a recent interview, Jackman revealed some information which could have been HUGE, if only it happened. Apparently, the 'Wolverine' turned down the iconic role of 'James Bond' because he thought the script was a little too wild for his comfort. I just felt at the time that the scripts has become so unbelievable and crazy, and I felt like they needed to become grittier and real', he said
Another hiccup in the legendary actor not taking up the role of the iconic spy was that he was told by the producers that he won't have any say in the whole plotting of the movie and the character. So that's one more thing that made him turn it down. Also, he was worried about swinging between 'X-Men' and 'James Bond' which would have been tough. His refusal turned out to be gold for Daniel Craig eventually.Obviously, Hugh had nothing to worry about and regrets didn't have any space in his life since he went on to do some stellar work and owned the whole 'Wolverine' franchise and made it what it became.

Famous Australian actor Hugh Jackman has told, why did not want to play James bond in the early 2000-ies. He was considered for the role of agent 007, as a possible candidate to replace Pierce Brosnan.
Hugh Jackman admitted that he was regarded as a performer of the role of the famous agent. At the beginning of this century, the Aussie could play James bond. According to Jackman, he just had to start shooting the film People of IKS-2when he called his agent with an offer of bond. The representative of the actor said that while he will not be able to influence the course of the plot of James bond, and Jackman, at the time, it seemed that the events in the film look too unrealistic. At the decision of the actor into account the fact that between filming the two movies he wont have any free time, so he refused.
Recall that after the Pierce Brosnan agent 007 was playing Daniel Craig. He has already managed to star in four films about James bond.
